Alfarīd (アルフリード Arufurīdo? ) was the daughter of Heyrtash, sister to Merlane and Narsus' fiancée.

Appearance[]

Anime/2013 Manga[]

She had short red hair and matching red eyes. She had two red markings on her cheeks, similar to other members of the Zott Tribe. She wore a blue scarf on her head. She wore a salmon colored shirt under her orange cape. She sported a metal spaulder on her left shoulder and her left arm was covered in metal decorations.

OVA Series[]

In the OVA, she had long light red hair.

Personality[]

She had a childish personality and was quick to anger. She was fearless and could sometimes overestimate her own abilities, as shown when she tried to take on Hilmes even though she was greatly outmatched.

She tended to speak with rough tongue, but she often did so in order to disguise her considerate intention behind her action.

Relationships[]

Narsus[]

Alfarīd shew a great interest in Narsus and claimed to be his lover, despite Narsus' protests. She was very grateful to him for saving her from Hilmes.

Silvermask[]

Alfarīd bore a profound hatred for Hilmes, as he killed her father and also tried to kill her.

Elam[]

Elam and Alfarīd did not get along very well due to Alfarīd's casual attitude towards Narsus. Elam did not want her to get too close to Narsus and get in his way. Alfarīd often engaged in childish arguments with him. However, they do often work together to carry out various missions under Narsus’ instructions. Alfarīd even defended Elam when he thought he had allowed the secret letter from Vahriz to be found by the sorcerers helping Hilmes (Narsus reassured them after that, saying the letter was a fake).

Farangis[]

As they were both girls, they seemed to be comfortable around each other, as Alfarīd discussed with Farangis about her relationship with Narsus. Alfarīd did not seem to see Farangis as a rival for Narsus' affections, but did seem to envy her well-endowed figure.

Arslan[]

Although Alfarīd was obsessed with being with Narsus, she did acknowledge Arslan. She believed that Arslan would be able to do some incredible things, and she supported him in getting his kingdom back.

Etymology[]

Alfarīd is most likely adapted from Persian Gordāfarīd. Its meaning is unknown.
